Part of me would like to think that Scar would have loved Simba as a nephew if he hadn't taken his place in line for the throne, but then again--Scar' character and emotions were really made against that. Regardless of who was in his way and who wasn't, he only knew what he wanted, IMO, and could care less about the lionesses/cubs/lions in his pride after he overthrew Mufasa.
That's just my viewpoint on it.
That aside, this pic is so cute! You drew Scar really, really well!
xD As much as I see this kind of art sharing small snippets of love between the cold hearted Scar and the innocence of Simba there's just this feeling deep inside stopping me from accepting it as a possibility that even the innocence of a child could melt away the layers of ice in Scars soul...I feel he's too far gone by that point to feel this way and that's why he has no sympathy for even his brothers death and what brings him to do the act himself and order the hyenas to kill Simba too....but I do believe he feels something of guilt afterwards or he wouldn't be so snappy later on in the film about mentioning Mufasa's name but then again he still has no guilt with Simba so I do really think he never loved Simba not once, it was always blind hatred and jealousy for the child that stole his only chance at power and being the centre of attention for once in his life.
Despite all this however I must admit I absolutely adore the way you've drawn this, the expressions are spot on and I love the way you draw Scar so much in this! xoxoxo
